Zamboanga City

Asia's Latin City — pink sand beaches, striped vinta sails, Spanish fortresses and the country's best seafood.

About Zamboanga City

Asia's latin city

Zamboanga City, on the southwestern tip of Mindanao, is unlike anywhere else in the Philippines: a Chavacano-speaking city where Spanish-influenced creole, Muslim vinta sailboats, a 17th-century stone fort and some of the world's best seafood share the same bay. Its signature is the pink sand of Santa Cruz Island — colored by crushed red coral — and the colorful striped sails of vintas gliding over turquoise shallows.

Zamboanga's famous red king crab, curacha, plus crab-fat rice and grill-smoked fish — the seafood table that justifies the trip on its own.
