Tagaytay

A cool highland ridge above Taal Volcano and Lake — an easy Manila escape of viewpoints, bulalo and fog.

About Tagaytay

Manila's cool weekend ridge

Tagaytay sits on a mountain ridge 640 meters above the Taal caldera, giving the Philippines its most famous volcano viewpoint: Taal Lake with Taal Volcano island rising from its center. Barely 60 kilometers from Manila, the ridge draws weekenders for its cool climate, ridge restaurants, amusement park, sky gardens and one signature dish — bulalo, bone marrow soup, eaten hot in the highland chill.

A cliff-edge amusement park whose Ferris wheel rides above the caldera — as much about the view as the rides, and wonderful after sunset.
